esterday, on December 13, the General Meeting of the IT Ukraine Association took place, attended by over 30 leaders of domestic and international IT-business. The main topics of the meeting were the election of the new President, Vice-Presidents and members of the Council of Representatives, who will shape the vectors of future community activity.

“Today, the IT Ukraine Association is one of the largest IT-business communities in Ukraine: the Association’s members represent more than 30% of IT-specialists in the country, accounting for more than 50% of total IT-service exports, which is over $1.5 billion. 2017 has been a year of changes and new beginnings for the community, and I am very pleased that these changes have brought tangible benefits to market participants. In my opinion, the Association has fully proved its leadership among other branch associations”, – said Yuri Antoniuk at the beginning of a meeting.

Oleksander Kubrakov, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association, presented the results and plans of the organization for the next year. Among the main achievements: taking into account the interests of the industry in the draft law on the capital tax, jointly with PwC Ukraine, the development of proposals for the taxation system of the industry, active work in the field of education and establishing international contacts to promote the positive image of the domestic IT-industry. Key priorities for 2018 were the work to build a network of business contacts for the industry, the development of technical education in Ukraine and the active support of small and medium-sized IT companies.  In addition to presenting the vision and summing up the year, an important part of the Assembly was the voting for new members of the community, presidential elections, vice-presidents and members of the Board of the Association.  This year four companies have joined the Association: Dinarys, Insoft Capital, Itera and PwC Ukraine.  After the presentation of new member companies, a new nomination for the post of President of the Association IT Ukraine was held. Having received almost one hundred percent support of the meeting participants, Ihor Bida, Executive Director of GlobalLogic Ukraine, was elected the new President of the community.   “I am very impressed with the changes that have taken place in the Association over the last year. And I fully support the vectors of development chosen by the Association, because they take into account the interests of both large and small players of the market as much as possible. For my part, I am ready to provide all possible support for community development and achievement of the set goals”, – Igor Bida commented on his appointment.  Vice Presidents of the Association were elected:
  • Vice President on Legal issues – Dmytro Ovcharenko, CEO in Alcor;
  • Vice President on SME segment – Victor Levandovsky, CEO Internet Devels;
  • Vice President on Education – Maksym Pochebut, Head of educational programs in EPAM Systems Ukraine.
Another important decision taken at the meeting was the decrease in the number of members of the Council of Representatives of the Association, a body supervising the activities and reporting of the community. The main criterion for the inclusion of companies in the Council of Representatives is the active participation in the Association’s projects. According to the results of the voting, the leaders of the 10 Association members were: Ciklum, ELEKS, EPAM Systems Ukraine, Intellias, Luxoft, Miratech, N-iX, SoftServe, Svitla Systems and Valtech.   “Miratech is one of the founders of the Association, so I think, like nobody else, I am glad to see the steady evolutionary development of the organization, and especially those processes that have taken place in the Association recently. I am sure that the selected vectors – support for small and medium-sized businesses, establishing international relations, changes in the educational system – will bring a lot of benefits not only to companies-members of the community, but to the whole Ukrainian industry of information technologies”, – summed up the results of the meeting Mykola Roenko, President of Miratech.  We welcome our new President, Vice-Presidents and members of the Board of the Association to the appointments and wish them inspiration for new posts.
