Artificial Intelligence for the Agricultural and Food Industry: IT-Enterprise Presents Practical Solutions for Industry Transformation at the AgriFood Digital & Automation Matchmaking-2026 Forum.

 

IT-Enterprise took part in a specialized event for representatives of the agricultural and food sector, AgriFood Digital & Automation Matchmaking-2026, organized by EDIH Kyiv HiTech together with the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance clusters, as well as the industry associations APPAU and U-Food. IT-Enterprise specialists presented real-world examples of applying artificial intelligence and automation in one of the key sectors of the domestic economy. The central message of the presentation was that AI has already become an everyday reality for Ukrainian business, but its effectiveness is directly tied to the level of digital transformation a company has already undergone.

 

IT-Enterprise found that the main obstacle to innovation adoption remains the unsystematic application of technology to unprocessed data arrays — following the principle of “irrelevant data in, irrelevant data out.” To avoid such mistakes, companies should follow a three-stage approach.

 

Key principles of AI implementation:

• Foundational digitalization (ERP): building reliable accounting, reporting, and production planning.
• Optimization: systematizing and improving existing business processes.
• AI agents: deploying artificial intelligence as an add-on layer that operates exclusively on verified and structured data.

 

During the event, experts presented practical examples for agricultural and food producers and demonstrated how AI tools work across three directions critical to the industry:

• Technical production preparation (TPP). An AI agent takes over the creation of technical processes and recipes, processing thousands of documents. This makes it possible to find information much faster and speeds up the launch of new products to market even amid staff shortages.
• Operational planning (APS/MES). Scheduling optimization algorithms, which IT-Enterprise has been developing for more than 35 years, allow production schedules to be instantly rebuilt in the event of raw material supply delays.
• Predictive equipment maintenance. For facilities with a high risk of losses (such as sugar plants), the company presented its Smart EAM suite and the AI agent Anna Maly, which analyzes sensor data from equipment in real time — a volume of data beyond human capacity to process — and helps prevent emergency shutdowns.
• Staff training. AI solutions help address the shortage of qualified personnel by enabling fast search across multilingual documentation and speeding up the onboarding of new employees.

 

Today, business priorities have shifted significantly: clients are now primarily interested in the availability of AI solutions rather than the cost of an ERP system. That said, the main enemy of innovation at Ukrainian enterprises remains ordinary Excel, which companies have used for years to try to manage complex business processes. Artificial intelligence won’t replace people, but a specialist who uses AI will certainly replace one who doesn’t,
