Upgrade UA: Training for the Future of Ukrainian IT

Publication date:

  • 15.10.2025

Publication from:

Beetroot Academy

Beetroot Academy, a member company of the ITU, has announced the launch of a large-scale project, Upgrade UA, aimed at providing Ukrainian specialists with access to modern knowledge and practices in the technology sector. The initiative will run from 2025 to 2027 and aims to develop competencies that support the competitiveness of the Ukrainian IT market at the global level.

The project provides for practical, short-term training sessions that meet market needs and allow participants to quickly master new digital skills. Upgrade UA targets key categories of specialists: technical and non-technical professionals working in IT companies or in IT teams within non-technical businesses.

Participants in the programme can join intensive training modules focused on the practical acquisition of new tools and approaches. The main attention is given to areas that are defining the further development of the IT industry, specifically:

  • Project Management;
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) for productivity enhancement;
  • Embedded Development and Deep Tech;
  • Cybersecurity

Within each area, webinars, masterclasses, workshops, and mini-courses are being conducted, all presented in an applied (practical) format. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the training catalogue to include courses on digital marketing, UX/UI design, machine learning, and computer literacy.

Ukraine needs highly qualified specialists capable of working effectively in the global digital economy. Upgrade UA is designed to help bridge knowledge gaps and develop modern competencies that directly influence the strengthening of the national IT sector. Upgrade UA will stimulate the professional growth of Ukrainian IT specialists, fostering community development and shaping the next generation digital economy.

The training is free of charge for all Ukrainians thanks to funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, which ensures the project’s accessibility to a wide range of specialists.
