The first phase of the AgriTech Business Accelerator has come to a close — an acceleration programme for Ukrainian agri-tech companies and start-ups aimed at entering the US market by establishing connections with investors, mentors, and ecosystem players from Silicon Valley.
Sixteen technology companies and start-ups were selected to participate, each developing innovative solutions for the agricultural sector — ranging from IoT platforms for precision farming and agricultural drone services to agri-data analytics, supply chain management, and climate-resilient agriculture. These include HEFT, Raymetra, Y-Harvest, ARTAXE, FEODAL, Howcow, INNONEERS, AGRO CHERNIAK, Valvix, PROFEED TECHNOLOGY, SAFIS.АІ, Agrico Ukraine, b2beings, Gis-point.ltd, Almexoft Ukraine, Sirrocco Energy. A catalogue of participating companies is available via the link.
The online phase ran from 9 to 30 April and featured a series of educational sessions delivered by Gauthier G. Vasseur (Executive Director, Fisher Center for Business Analytics, UC Berkeley) and Rhonda Shrader (Executive Director, Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship, UC Berkeley). The programme covered key topics related to entering the US market: Lean Startup as a Silicon Valley methodology, building data-driven processes and leveraging AI, working with the Business Model Canvas, and the nuances of pitching to American investors.
The first phase concluded with an in-person meetup in Kyiv on 28 April. Ahead of the trip to the United States, participants took part in a pre-departure briefing and exchanged experience. At the event, a welcome address was delivered by Viktoriia Hultai, Director of Communications and Learning at the Agriculture and Rural Development Programme (AGRO), while Andrii Korobkin, COO of Geniusee, shared practical insights and first-hand knowledge of working with the US market.
The second phase of the programme launches next week, running from 11 to 22 May in California. Over the course of ten days, participants will take part in educational and ecosystem activities including UC Berkeley lectures, go-to-market and pitching workshops, business visits to local companies, and networking events.
