IT Ukraine

On March 30, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Employment Service, IT Ukraine Association and IT academies signed the Memorandum of cooperation in IT professionals training. On April 3, within the framework of this initiative, a pilot project was launched in Kyiv to help those who wish to acquire an IT profession.

The Memorandum of cooperation was signed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the State Employment Service of Ukraine, IT Ukraine Association, Hillel Computer School, STEP Computer Academy, ITEC Educational Initiatives Association and IT-ITEA Education Academy.

The pilot project consists of the following steps:

  • We determine candidates’ aptitude for certain IT qualifications

To do this, one should take the Pathfinder test available on the State Employment Service website. The test was developed and launched by the IT Education Academy with support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and educational IT centers. It is aimed at the determination of candidate’s aptitude for this or other qualification. Following the test, he/she is proposed  several areas of study to choose from.

  • We determine the candidates’ abilities and potential

This is the second test for a candidate to pass. Following it, artificial intelligence determines the best candidates who will later be able to receive training in IT academies that are partners of the project. The training is paid by the State Employment Service using public resources.

  • We promote competitive employment at leading IT companies in Ukraine.
Kostiantyn Vasiuk, Executive Director, IT Ukraine Association: IT industry requires tens of thousands of skilled professionals whereas traditional higher education cannot keep up with its growth rate. Therefore, we support this initiative of the authorities and join our efforts with relevant government agencies, IT academies and educational institutions to make training of future professionals in accordance with the requirements of IT companies possible.
