Synergy 2021: How Does Sigma Software Develop IT Education?

Sigma Software Group is a special sponsor of the annual Synergy 2021. IT Business & IT Education Conference. We spoke with Max Pochebut, the Chief Learning Officer at Sigma Software Group, about how and how much the company invests in IT education in Ukraine.

Sigma Software has been actively involved in the development of IT education since its inception. The company cooperates with 20+ leading universities and schools, participates in supervisory boards of higher education institutions, launches joint courses with the company’s specialists in trend directions, equips computer laboratories so that youngsters could study in comfort, and conducts a dialogue with the government. The company has invested over USD 1 million in the development of IT education.

In 2016, Sigma Software launched its educational platform, Sigma Software University. It was created for the exchange of knowledge and development of the IT community in Ukraine and is designed to help grow professionally and master new areas for both beginners and experienced professionals.

The three main features of Sigma Software University are:

Continuing education of the company’s specialists;
Programs for schoolchildren, students, and switchers;
Programs for experienced IT specialists and professional community development.

Every year, Sigma Software University conducts and supports over 50 courses and meet-ups in the leading areas of IT and business development. The courses graduates and meet-up participants, and that is over 500 people each year, have the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills or gain a solid foundation for further development in IT.

Development of IT education is one of the main directions of the company’s CSR strategy. Ukraine’s IT industry has considerable potential, however, its further development is impossible without the training of a large number of engineers, testers, project managers, and business analysts. Thus, the development of IT education is the key to the development of the industry as a whole.
