On October 14th, the second strategic session of the AgriTech Committee of the IT Ukraine Association took place. Participants focused on developing solutions to key issues related to the growth of the AgriTech industry.
During the strategic session, attention was centered on finding solutions for the following key issues:
Representatives from a-Gnostics, SmartFarming, Howcow, UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group, Top Lead, Frendt, Syngenta, FERM, FieldBi, Ailand Systems, Agrichain joined the October session.
The AgriTech committee also paid special attention to the lack of quality specialised education. Since this sector is at the intersection of two industries – agriculture and IT – there is a problem: farmers do not have sufficient IT expertise and IT professionals do not have in-depth knowledge of the agricultural sector. In this regard, the importance of creating specialised bootcamps and involving experts in working groups to develop training programmes in the future was stressed.
As previously reported, a market and stakeholder mapping process is underway during the strategic sessions, which will include an analysis of key players and trends.
The AgriTech catalogue will contain data on the main market participants. In addition, it will include an analysis of current trends, achievements and challenges in the industry, as well as forecasts of future opportunities and development prospects. The EBA will use the catalogue in its international activities: to attract new partners, clients and investors, as well as to promote the Ukrainian tech brand by sector.
