Results of the Closed Meeting of IT Companies with Anna Gvozdiar (Ministry of Strategic Industries)

On Tuesday, February 11, a closed meeting took place with Anna Gvozdiar, Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, organised by the IT Ukraine Association together with the Diia.City Union.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint IT companies with the Ministry of Strategic Industries’ digital projects and the state’s requests in the field of digitalisation, to identify key areas for further cooperation and interaction.

 

The defence industry ecosystem faces a number of challenges, including:

• limited access to relevant information;
• fragmented communication with manufacturers;
• insufficient transparency in processes and cybersecurity;
• the need for rapid, high-quality scaling of sectors;
• a lack of personnel due to the rapid growth of the industry.

 

Thus, the Ministry’s main areas of focus for ensuring change are:

• a personalised web portal for manufacturers;
• automation of processes and simplification of procedures;
• strengthening trust and accelerating development;
• creating an analytical centre for data-driven management decisions;
• proactive response to challenges.

 

At the same time, the Ministry’s request to IT is the development of battle management software, creation of supplementary programmes to minimise human error. The Ministry is working on increasing the share of Ukrainian components.

 

The government has expanded the list of defence-related products to include software components, defence IT solutions, military management and monitoring systems, as well as situational awareness programmes, recognising them as part of weapons and military equipment. This will allow developers of specialised software to enter into state contracts, access government services and use support programmes, including employee reservation and access to crediting.

 

Important! The Ministry of Strategic Industries does not handle employee reservations directly. The Ministry’s areas of responsibility include:

• approval of criteria for determining enterprises of importance to the national economy;
• determination of compliance of enterprises, institutions, and organisations with these criteria;
• designation of an enterprise as important for the national economy;
• designation of an enterprise as critically important for the functioning of the economy in special periods in the defence-industrial complex.

 

The status of being critically important for the functioning of the economy in special periods in the defence-industrial complex allows up to 100% of employees to be reserved, regardless of military accounting speciality.
