It’s been the second time that EPAM is conducting an educational program for 15-17 years old teenagers wishing to learn more about the IT world. Despite the war and not stable internet connection, the school kids have successfully completed their studies and even made their first project.

Pre-Junior Program is a joint initiative for senior school children by EPAM University and IT Association of Ukraine, part of which was realized now under the war conditions. During three months of studying the participants learnt basic information about the IT world, discovered different specializations in the technological sphere, went deeper into the details of projects and found out who is responsible for what in a team. Having had the orientational general topics, the students were able to choose a direction and study deeper one of the technologies: Front-End, .NET or Cloud Computing.

The participants were very motivated, they actively posed questions at the sessions and in chats. They also had experience of independent studying, which heavily depends on consciousness and goal-setting of an individual. Everyone worked hard on their homeworks. It was a very interesting and pleasant experience working with them.
— Daria Cherevach, coordinator of the project on behalf of EPAM Ukraine, comments on the Pre-Junior Program
Students got to know a new sphere, with which they may connect their professional future. The first steps into the world of technology required a lot of effort, time and motivation, but they have successfully completed the educational program and are sharing their impressions happily.
The first thought I had having learnt about the program was “I want this, but how can I manage everything?”, as I have a ton of additional sessions with a tutor and preparation for exams. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a try. I would like to thank the teachers and organizers, who were always in contact, answered questions, explained everything in detail and didn’t let us give up. Thanks to this program I got new knowledge and understanding that I do want to grow in this domain. I thank EPAM for opening doors to the IT world. – Arina Hontarieva, participant of the program, tells about her studies
The whole EPAM University team admires the graduates and believes that the acquired knowledge and skills will help them decide on the future profession. Altogether, there were 5 EPAM trainers involved in development and realization of the program. Currently, they are planning the next start of the Pre-Junior Program, in summer.
