Meeting with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food: the Future of the Agricultural Sector Through the Lens of IT and Innovation

On 3 July, a working meeting took place between representatives of the IT industry and the agricultural sector implementing AgriTech solutions, and Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In 2025, the agricultural sector remains one of the key pillars of Ukraine’s economy, despite the ongoing war, logistical constraints, and the transformation of global markets. Ukrainian agribusinesses continue to show resilience and adaptability by restoring exports, launching processing operations, and investing in technology.

At the same time, the industry faces a range of challenges, including climate change, labour shortages, damaged infrastructure, high risks, and strong competition in foreign markets. These factors further underscore the need for innovative solutions, digital transparency, and stronger partnerships between the government, business, and the tech community.

These priorities — technological advancement in the agricultural sector, digital solutions, data infrastructure, market needs, and the challenges faced by agri-producers — were the focus of a working meeting with the team from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Key topics discussed included:

  • the use of data and satellite systems;
  • the resilience of digital infrastructure;
  • application of drones and agri-robotics in real field conditions;
  • digitalisation of processing and analytics in agri-processes;
  • talent development for the “new agro” at the intersection of agriculture and IT

We extend our sincere thanks to the team at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and personally to Vitalii Koval for the open dialogue and readiness to continue engaging with the business community in addressing complex yet vital issues.
