On July 30, the first Strategic Session of the IT Ukraine Association AgriTech Committee took place, where key industry issues were discussed. The main challenges were identified as the sometimes local nature of AgriTech products, the market’s lack of awareness regarding financial opportunities for promoting and scaling AgriTech business, inexperience in operating in international markets, long sales cycle and a shortage of qualified salespeople in AgriTech.
The AgriTech Committee has commenced its activities to develop the market with a powerful session aimed at identifying problems and challenges that need to be overcome to make Ukrainian AgriTech solutions competitive in global markets. I am grateful to the IT Ukraine Association team, which helped turn productive discussions into concrete action items. Congratulations to all the companies that joined the discussion on the beginning of a great and positive development of the industry. It will be interesting and productive moving forward!,
said Stanislav Shum, the committee leader and founder of a project on innovations in agriculture.
The purpose of the committees recently announced by the Association is to develop effective solutions for the development of industry verticals. The first steps are strategic sessions to discuss the challenges and features of the segment, followed by the formation and presentation of roadmaps by the end of the year.
The creation of expertise-based committees is a step towards strengthening advocacy for specific segments and expanding the range of activities of the Association’s international team. The committees provide an opportunity to accelerate the scaling of verticals and facilitate their entry into new markets. AgriTech today is a unique segment born at the intersection of the country’s two main export industries. We already see how ready the companies are to unite to achieve common goals and exchange their experience. I am confident that they can not only strengthen Ukraine’s tech brand but also become of the pillars in shaping the post-war recovery strategy of the country,
said Victoria Fedorenko, Chief Operating Officer of ITU.
