On 28-29 June, Lviv hosted Mind Invest Summit, the largest event this summer for investors and entrepreneurs, where the topic of the IT industry’s potential took a special place.
Maria Shevchuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association, took part in the panel discussion “IT as a flagship industry. Potential and challenges for growth” and said the following:
Our task is to ‘sell’ Ukraine as a location. Right now we look good, even with all the challenges. But our competitors are growing up. The biggest one is India. It is currently focusing on less complex solutions, while Ukrainians are not afraid to take on challenging projects. In addition, we have excellent digital skills as a nation. Therefore, the attractiveness of the Ukrainian IT industry is currently much higher. But India is also building up its perspective. They are quite proactive in this and their growth is only a matter of time.
The conference brought together investors, entrepreneurs, start-up teams and all those who are seriously considering Ukraine and its assets as investment targets. The event brought together a balanced line-up of speakers who, through their speeches, judgements, beliefs and opinions, directly or indirectly influence the country’s investment attractiveness.
In parallel, the UA Tech Show was held, an exposition that brought together leading Ukrainian technology companies to present the latest products and inventions to visitors. The task of the exhibitors is really simple: to look for and find partners, investors or customers.
