IT Ukraine

At the end of a year, we traditionally hold a General Meeting of the IT Ukraine Association to elect new management, discuss results and plans, and chat with our members and partners in a relaxed atmosphere. This year, the event was held as a live broadcast with the possibility to join the meeting offline in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the team of the IT Ukraine Western Ukrainian representative office is currently based.

For the first time in the history, the Association will have the first woman elected President in 2023. Congratulations to Ms. Olena Samborska, Managing Director/HR Operations Director Ukraine, Luxoft! The participants of the General Meeting also elected Vice-Presidents for priority activities:
  1. Vice-president for financial and legal issues — Kateryna Oliynyk, partner, Arzinger;
  2. Vice-president for international cooperation — Kostyantyn Magaletskyi, Founder, GoIT Group;
  3. Vice-President for work with small and medium-sized businesses — Maksym Maslia, President and Global CEO, Digicode;
  4. Vice-president for educational issues — Denys Hrynyov, Head of ERAM University in Ukraine;
  5. Vice-president for PR issues – Dmytro Melnykovych, CEO, WOO Company.
The Council of Representatives will determine development vectors and priorities for 2023. It consists of 15 well-known leaders of the technological market of Ukraine elected from the Association’s member companies. According to the Statute, the ex-president of the Association Vitaly Sadler and the founder of IT Ukraine Mykola Roenko are also included in the Council. We thank the previous management of the Association – Vitaly Sedler, Natalia Mitrofanova, Kateryna Oliynyk, Maksym Pochebut and Sam Shevakh, as well as all members of the Council of Representatives – for the fruitful and fulfilling year of joint work, and for our shared efforts to support the IT industry in this difficult for the country time. During this period, we actively developed and expanded all directions of our activities: GR, International, Education and CSR, PR and communications. In the conditions of large-scale relocation within the country and abroad, the Association successfully launched a Western Ukrainian representative office  in Ivano-Frankivsk and a representative office in London, UK. Work on the international track acquired new formats in 2022 with a focus on business development, international GR, PR and brand awareness. Almost 40 events were initiated and carried out together with our international partners. The geography of the Association’s activities covered more than 15 countries from the USA to Japan, from India to the Scandinavian countries. The United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Ireland, and Japan were selected as priority markets. The Association initiated and successfully conducted a large Ukrainian road show to the UK jointly with the “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” USAID Program and partners. In general, during the current year, we have launched 3 services, implemented 32 projects and 15 CSR initiatives to support Ukraine, held 39 closed and 63 open events, released more than a dozen analytical reviews and industry studies, given more than 80 interviews to Ukrainian and international media. Large-scale online events of the Association – IT Ukraine Legal Conference, Synergy 2022, EduSummit and new public formats of the industry key issue discussion – ITU Public Talks, Legal Talks, Edu Talks, Talk to Ukraine – collected thousands of audience members. The updated Committee on IT Law processed 12 draft laws and joined the work on 28 projects of regulatory and legal acts in total. Reserving professionals, e-travel, VAT, currency regulation, tax residency – the Association has systematically worked out all these tracks with the Office of the President, the Government and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The high level of our participants’ trust and the technological community determined the constant and organic growth of the Association. The number of members in 2022 increased by 26%. We thank all members and partners for their trust and cooperation! Through joint efforts, we were able to accumulate all the resources of the industry to withstand the challenges of wartime, support the government, the Armed Forces, and bring our victory closer. With an optimistic view on the next year, we remain open to new offers and formats of interaction! Only in synergy, as a united community, we will be able to maximize the industry’s potential to restore the country, develop large-scale innovative projects at the national and international level, and build a new digital economy of Ukraine. More information about the work of the Association can be found in the video presentation by the Executive Director of the Association, Konstantin Vasyuk. in Ukrainian.
