This week, the EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025 program was launched in Ukraine. It is designed to support young agri-food companies aiming to implement innovative solutions, develop digital tools, and strengthen expertise in the agro- and foodtech sectors.
The kick-off meeting became a platform for participants to get acquainted with the program, mentors, and each other. During the event, participants:
EIT systematically launches programs to support entrepreneurs, and some of them are flagship initiatives for Ukraine. This highlights the involvement of the European innovation network in shaping the innovation sector in our country — which is also one of the reasons why entrepreneurs must continue working towards tangible results for a faster and more efficient integration into the EU ecosystem,
– said Ihor Markevych, EIT Community Officer, EIT Community Hub Ukraine.
As part of EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025, participants can expect online workshops led by ecosystem leaders on topics such as scaling, fundraising, legal & intellectual property, European market specifics, artificial intelligence, corporate partnerships, and more.
EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025 marks the second edition of the program, which already proved successful last year. Now, the program once again brings together Ukrainian scale-ups in the agricultural sector to help businesses grow not only in Ukraine but also across Europe,
– noted Alina Kyselova, Director of the Amplifiers Program.
The goal of the program is to unlock scaling opportunities for Ukrainian agro- and agrotech companies in both national and European markets, while also fostering the growth of young teams through training, workshops, and mentoring support. In addition, the program supports the implementation of the AgroTech sectoral strategy within the WINWIN Digital Innovation Development Strategy.
The EIT Food Challenge Labs program opens new opportunities for Ukrainian agro-foodtech companies — from access to knowledge and mentoring support to strong partnerships and European markets. The IT Ukraine Association is a partner in implementing Ukraine’s innovative WINWIN strategy in AgroTech, and we are confident that such programs will strengthen Ukrainian companies in this sector and boost their scaling on international markets,
– said Mariia Shevchuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association.
EIT Food Challenge Labs 2025 is initiated by EIT Food and implemented by the Amplifiers Program in partnership with the IT Ukraine Association, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Diia City, the national project Diia.Business, and the Ukrainian Agrarian Export Association.
The program contributes to the implementation of the AgroTech sectoral strategy under the WINWIN Digital Innovation Development Strategy and creates new opportunities for the innovative growth of Ukrainian companies in the agro- and foodtech sectors.
