On August 5, an online meeting with the experts of Mindy Foundation dedicated to the topic of mental health support for employees and the War veterans was held. The event reached almost 2,800 people on Facebook and proved that this topic is currently becoming of special social importance. Returning from the combat zone, people face problems of adaptation to a new life. Some of them have to change their speciality and become switchers.

During the meeting, experts of Mindy Foundation and invited speakers shared their stories, knowledge, experience and recommendations with the participants.

One of the strategic directions of the Mindy Foundation work together with IT companies that support the principles of CSR is to adapt training programs and give veterans the opportunity to get a new profession and adapt to an active life
— Bohdan Minenko, Mindy Foundation Founder, moderator, emphasized.
Iryna Gerasimova, Professional Orientation Coordinator for Mindy Foundation veterans, spoke about the influence of corporate culture on the adaptation of those who returned from the War.
The corporate culture of IT companies speeds up the social adaptation of veterans and has a positive effect on the mental health recovery after suffering from PTSD,  – Ms Iryna said.
Overall, the following topics were discussed during the meeting:
  • The mental state of employees during the War, the level of post-traumatic stress disorder, its impact on work efficiency;
  • Importance of psychological preparation of IT specialists for mobilization.
  • Corporate culture of IT companies as one of the factors of social adaptation of veterans to peaceful life;
  • Adaptation of educational programs to the psychophysiological features of the War veterans’ health state.
While training, employing and organizing the work process of veterans and participants in hostilities, it is important to take into account the psychological and physical characteristics of the injured, especially defenders with the loss of limbs, – Vadym Svyridenko, Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the rehabilitation of combatants, stated.
The social responsibility of business in the post-War period was also discussed with experts. We are truly grateful to our participants for their speeches! Speakers:
  • Taras Yermakov, Mindy Foundation Founder, startup entrepreneur, psychologist
  • Iryna Gerasimova, Professional Orientation Coordinator for Mindy Foundation veterans
