Case Study: American-style IT education: industry-driven curricula and internships

On November 28, exactly two weeks from now, the biggest event of the year in Ukraine’s IT education—Synergy. IT Business & IT Education—will take place in an online format. We’re excited to start sharing details of the conference programme—it’s going to be fascinating!

 

As part of the agenda, attendees will hear the case study ‘American-Style IT Education: Industry-Driven Curricula and Internships.’ The speaker will be Sergiy Tytenko, Associate Professor at American University Kyiv and the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Digital Technologies EPAM, Ph.D.

• The implementation of American industry-driven approaches through the example of AUK programmes, specifically Software Engineering and Digital Design & AI.

• Industry partnerships in short-term Life-Long Learning programmes as a tool for rapid skill development and as a means of introducing master’s programmes and the educational ecosystem.

• Internships and corporate partnership programmes: opportunities for building long-term relationships between universities and businesses.

• American approaches to internships: paid, project-based, and multicultural.
