6 projects received grants for the development of IT education

GlobalLogic

The Ukrainian national competition of grant projects aimed at the development of IT education has ended. 6 initiatives of teachers and students of Ukrainian universities received grants for the full implementation of projects. The total fund was $20,000 *.

The finalists were 2 projects by the teams from Lviv Polytechnic National University: a chatbot (hint) in the disciplines “Machine Learning” and “Deep Learning” and the launch of an online course on the principles of sensors. Among the winners are also projects to create a new methodology of educational process based on peer-to-peer technology from the team of NTU “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, development of a unique platform at the junction of medicine and IT from the team of VNTU from Vinnytsia, updating the course “Operating Systems” from ONPU Odessa and the online course “Schematics” for the Coursera platform from KPI named after Igor Sikorsky.

The competition was organized by GlobalLogic as part of GlobalLogic Education. 105 teams from 42 schools and 16 cities of Ukraine have submitted their projects. About 80% of the initiatives covered the technical direction of training. Almost half of all projects were ideas for creating online courses and digitizing existing curricula. At the same time, almost every team had not only teachers but also students. This indicates the interest of young people in the development of Ukrainian education.

Within GlobalLogic Education, we cooperate with 19 universities in Ukraine, including the winners of our competition. We saw how many progressive ideas teachers and students of Ukraine have. Their main priority is the creation of high-quality digital content, gamification of learning, the development of open access projects for other educators, as well as improving English language proficiency among students. We are glad that we can meet the demands of teachers and students and finance their initiatives to improve the learning process,
— comments Ievgen Sakalo, coordinator of the GlobalLogic university program in Ukraine, Ph.D.
All grant projects under the terms of the competition must be implemented during the year. The company’s experts will work with the teams and help implement their projects on time. In addition to the winning teams, by the end of 2021, 12 more teams will receive financial assistance to develop their ideas. * At the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine on the date of concluding agreements on the transfer of charitable grant funds
