Our focus this year is “Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence: New Rules for the Digital World.”
Every October, the European Cybersecurity Month brings together governments, businesses, civil society organisations and cybersecurity experts across Europe to raise awareness of cyber threats. The initiative has been running since 2012 and is coordinated by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), with the support of the European Commission and EU Member States.
In recent years, increasing attention has been given to the human factor in cybersecurity. In 2024, the campaign focused on social engineering, while in 2025, phishing was at the centre of attention. The focus is on how people recognise threats, verify information and respond to attempts at manipulation.
The IT Ukraine Association is taking this conversation further by focusing on one of the key technological factors shaping cybersecurity today: artificial intelligence.
AI is already changing the nature of cyberattacks. Cybercriminals can use it to create and personalise phishing messages more quickly, scale social engineering campaigns, generate realistic fake images and videos, and clone voices. This makes scams harder to recognise and raises the bar for digital awareness among users.
At the same time, artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important tool for defence. It can help detect suspicious activity, analyse large volumes of data, identify potential threats more quickly and support faster responses.
Throughout the month, we will explore three key areas:
The initiative will bring together the Association’s AI and CyberTech Committees, as well as member companies. Together, we will host thematic events and publish practical recommendations, expert insights and case studies from Ukrainian technology businesses.
