Ukraine’s IT exports grew by 4.1% in H1 2026

According to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, in the first half of 2026, exports of computer services reached $3.343 billion, up 4.1% ($133 million) compared with the same period in 2025 ($3.210 billion).

 

Overall exports in the category of “Telecommunications, computer and information services” amounted to $3.417 billion, representing a 4.3% increase compared with the first half of last year ($3.276 billion).

 

The largest importers of Ukrainian computer services in the first half of 2026 were:

• United States — $1.234 billion, 36.9% of exports, up 8.7%;
• Malta — $280 million, 8.4%, down 0.6%;
• United Kingdom — $267 million, 8.0%, down 5.5%;
• Cyprus — $250 million, 7.5%, up 8.1%;
• Switzerland — $124 million, 3.7%, down 2.4%;
• Israel — $122 million, 3.6%, down 8.1%;
• Estonia — $119 million, 3.6%, up 18.0%;
• Germany — $100 million, 3.0%, down 14.6%;
• Poland — $98 million, 2.9%, up 10.4%;
• United Arab Emirates — $94 million, 2.8%, up 25.0%.

 

The top 10 countries accounted for approximately 80.4% of total computer services exports, amounting to $3.343 billion.

 

At the same time, export statistics should distinguish between countries representing actual demand and jurisdictions used for contracting. Countries such as Malta and Cyprus often serve as corporate hubs for international technology companies and are used for structuring contracts. Therefore, the actual markets for Ukrainian IT services are more concentrated in the United States, the United Kingdom, EU countries and Israel.

 

The steady growth in IT services exports, although modest, demonstrates that Ukraine’s technology sector has moved beyond the survival stage and returned to a development trajectory. Despite the war, the global cooling of the IT market and intense competition, the sector remains one of the key sources of foreign-currency revenues and continues to demonstrate its strategic importance to the Ukrainian economy. It is also important to note that DefenceTech is not included in IT services export statistics, despite the sector becoming increasingly active in international markets. Therefore, the technology sector’s actual contribution to Ukraine’s export potential is greater than the NBU’s computer services statistics indicate.

The positive dynamics confirm that Ukrainian technology companies remain competitive in the global market and continue to generate stable foreign-currency revenues despite the ongoing full-scale war.
