Aggeek publishes third annual “Digital Agro Ukraine 2026” study, covering almost 7% of Ukraine’s cultivated land

The Aggeek team has presented the third edition of its annual “Digital Agro Ukraine 2026” study — the largest survey of digitalisation in the country’s crop production sector. The research reveals the actual level and trends of digital and innovative technology adoption in Ukrainian agriculture, and identifies the barriers to, and drivers of, their development.

The full version is available free of charge at: https://www.aggeekaggency.com/digitalagro2026

Scale of the study

This year’s edition covered:

  • 54 agricultural companies — ranging from 50-hectare farms to holdings of 500,000 hectares — that completed a full survey comprising 34 functional questions;
  • 2,287,682 hectares of combined land bank, representing almost 7% of all cultivated land in Ukraine;
  • 2,174 participants in open online market surveys;
  • 41 slides of data and infographics across 34 areas of agricultural business activity.

The land bank covered by the study exceeds the 2025 figure by 6%, meaning market coverage continues to grow.

Key findings

Precision farming operates in unique conditions. 89% of agricultural producers named electronic warfare (EW) interference and the resulting loss of GPS signal as the main challenge to precision farming. Ukrainian farmers are adopting cutting-edge technologies alongside challenges that no Western counterpart faces.

The main shortage isn’t money — it’s people. 72% of respondents cited a shortage of qualified personnel as the key barrier to adopting new technologies, ahead of the cost of goods and materials (61%) and the cost of the technologies themselves (53%).

Artificial intelligence tops the market’s plans. 45% of companies plan to introduce AI technologies in 2026–2027 — the most popular item among all development plans.

The market has chosen its working tools. Among companies using FMS systems, 70% use CropWise, making it the most widely adopted farm management system according to the study’s findings.
