On February 16, SoftServe’s “Open Eyes” corporate charity foundation donated new medical equipment to three hospitals in Dnipro and Izium, namely:
In Dnipro, the medical equipment will be used in children’s departments. The Dnipro Regional Clinical Hospital will now have an encephalograph, which is needed to treat newborns with nervous system pathologies and for diagnostics and health monitoring. The City Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 6 will have an electrocoagulator for surgeries such as tumor removal.
The Izium Primary Health Care Center received analyzers for the outpatient department, oxygen concentrators for the intensive care unit, and an electric knife for the surgical department. Izium hospital is recovering from the Russian occupation, the main building of the medical facility was completely destroyed, and the medical equipment was stolen.
The purchase of new equipment for the hospital in Izyum, one of the most damaged cities in Ukraine, is an essential task as it treats survivors of the occupation, residents of other frontline settlements, and the military.
Since 2014, the Open Eyes Foundation has been implementing projects in the medical field, purchasing equipment, creating educational and rehabilitation spaces for children called “Positive Rooms,” and providing ventilators and personal protective equipment to hospitals in Ukraine during the pandemic. Since February 24, 2022, the foundation has transferred more than 30,000 boxes of medicines to hot spots and actively cooperates with more than 100 medical institutions in Ukraine, hospitals, medical units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and military hospitals. As part of its Drive for Life project, the foundation has already purchased 42 ambulances fully equipped with medical equipment and 52 vehicles for evacuating the wounded.
About the “Open Eyes” Charitable Foundation
The Open Eyes Corporate Charitable Foundation was founded in 2014 by SoftServe. Since 24.02.22, the foundation has focused on helping Ukraine – 500 tons of humanitarian aid has been delivered from 11 countries. The foundation delivered 42 fully equipped ambulances and 52 vehicles for evacuating the wounded to the front line. 30,000 sets of medicines were delivered to medical institutions, and the military was provided with over 20,000 personal protective equipment and 5,800 pieces of equipment (computers, modems, Starlink) for the work of both NGOs and governmental organizations and the military. The foundation is also launching educational programs for children of internally displaced persons. In total, SoftServe has allocated $11.7 million to help the country since February 24.
