The Future with AI Begins with Culture: How to Prepare Your Company for Inevitable Change. The Sigma Software Experience

The Future with AI Begins with Culture: How to Prepare Your Company for Inevitable Change. The Sigma Software Experience

At the Cloud Tech 2025 conference, organised by the European Business Association (EBA), Yevheniy Bachynskyi, Vice President of Sigma Software and a member of the IT Ukraine AI Committee, presented research on the real state of Artificial Intelligence (AI) implementation in business. The Cloud Tech 2025 conference became one of the year’s largest events in the field of cloud technologies and cybersecurity, bringing together dozens of speakers and hundreds of representatives from business, technology companies, and government bodies.

In his report, “Business Demand for AI: Expectations and Reality,” Yevheniy Bachynskyi revealed the true picture of the use of generative technologies within companies and explained why many are becoming disappointed. The detailed market analysis and proprietary experience showed that the majority of successful AI implementations involve deploying common LLM (Large Language Model) assistants such as ChatGPT, MS Copilot, or Gemini. This signals that even these tools, when used effectively, can deliver significant value.

Organisations that successfully implement Generative AI (GenAI) solutions beyond conventional LLMs began with simple organisational steps: training people, creating AI champion programmes, and adapting processes. According to the speaker, the main secret to successful AI platform implementation is shifting the approach from “IT system deployment” to “organisational transformation.”

Yevheniy Bachynskyi noted that despite the surging interest in GenAI, only 1% of executives consider their implementations mature. The main reason is the lack of a systemic approach and proper team preparation. According to him, “AI implementation is not just a technological shift but a cultural shift within the company, which requires the transformation of processes, mindset, and management accountability.”

Key Takeaways from the Presentation:

  • 67% of successful AI implementations occur in partnership with external vendors, rather than solely through internal efforts.
  • Companies that invest in employee training and implement AI through small-scale scenarios achieve results faster.
  • Businesses anticipate the greatest value from GenAI in core functions: sales, marketing, operations, and R&D (Research and Development).
  • Increased efficiency and productivity remain the most frequently expected benefits of GenAI; however, the actual results often do not meet these expectations.

Bachynskyi advised companies to begin their transformation with small but demonstrative steps—involving volunteers from executive teams to create success stories and strengthen trust within the organisation.

We launched an internal AI Champions programme and created a community of enthusiasts who became the driving force behind the implementation of Artificial Intelligence within the company. We started with a three-day bootcamp where we trained them on how to use AI tools, demonstrated real-life use cases, and showed them how to build their own agents. Today, these specialists have become agents of change in their departments and are helping to scale the use of AI in practice

noted Yevheniy Bachynskyi

It is crucial to create opportunities for teams to see the real results of colleagues who achieve quick wins through the use of new tools and technologies. People are more willing to embrace change when they see practical examples from their peers, and not just recommendations from management or the IT department.
