Ukrainian Tech Night 2025 — Ukrainian IT at Viva Technology

Ukrainian Tech Night 2025 — Ukrainian IT at Viva Technology

The IT Ukraine Association co-organised the Viva Technology Side Event — for the second year in a row. The gathering brought together players from both the French and Ukrainian tech sectors to strengthen collaboration between the technological ecosystems of both countries with the participation of the Ukrainian delegation.

Ukraine is not just about resilience — it is also about technological strength, innovation, and an ambitious digital transformation. This is exactly what the participants experienced during the recent event held in the heart of Paris — a meeting of Ukrainian companies and startups with the French tech community.

The Side Event brought together over 80 participants, including representatives of the French and Ukrainian governments, corporate partners, venture capitalists, startup ecosystem builders, and media. Business accelerator for startups Le Village by Credit Agricole hosted the event.

As the 9th edition of Viva Technology takes place, the topic of technological sovereignty has never felt more relevant than it does this year. We’re all increasingly aware that our independence and collective strength lie in our ability to innovate and to seize opportunities at a European scale. This is at the core of Crédit Agricole’s DNA — and it’s exactly why we’re all here tonight. Europe is what connects us and brings us together.

– Laurent Darmon, Director of Innovation and New Activities at Credit Agricole Group.

At Crédit Agricole, we see Ukraine not only as a country at the heart of Europe, but as a country at the heart of global tech potential. The Ukrainian IT industry has demonstrated remarkable strength and agility. And this is inspiring us to work even more to help IT Entrepreneurs unleash their potential. In 2024 Credit Agricole Ukraine declared: we Aim to Invest in the Recovery of Ukraine. We believe that IT is one of the key drivers of Ukraine’s economic recovery. As a reliable partner of IT business, we propose comprehensive financial solutions for IT clients and make our contribution to the industry development.

– Carlos de Cordoue, CEO at Credit Agricole Ukraine.

Attendees received an Overview of the Ukrainian Digital Ecosystem — its potential and opportunities — presented by Alex Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for IT development. Ukraine today is about digital-first public services: a passport in your smartphone, business registration in just a few clicks, and even car purchases via mobile app. The country is home to over 2,100 IT companies and around 2,600 startups, including 8 ‘unicorns’. Ukraine’s Defence Tech sector is rapidly growing, with more than 500 companies developing and manufacturing drones.

As part of the Startup Showcase, four Ukrainian startups pitched their cutting-edge solutions:

  • Vita325 — an AI-powered app that turns a smartphone into a tool for accelerated rehabilitation after lower-limb amputation, featuring gait analysis and personalised guidance.
  • Anima — a neuroscience-based service for mental health screening of employees using only a webcam.
  • Intempo — a rhythmic music game for self-help, enabling users to reduce stress by tapping along to their favorite songs and tracking their emotional state.
  • Pitch Avatar — an AI platform that generates conversational avatars for sales, customer support, and training teams.

Following the pitch sessions, the startups had the opportunity to connect with French investors and corporate partners during a vibrant networking session.

Tonight is about action: building relationships, forging partnerships, investing, and developing projects that will drive economic growth — not only in Ukraine or France, but across a wider European tech ecosystem that must continue to work together in collaboration and synergy,

— Laurent Darmon said.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. French colleagues gained deeper insights into Ukraine’s tech landscape, its key players, and its strong potential for cooperation. And once again, we were reminded: Ukraine’s tech sector is a reliable partner, unequivocally worth paying attention and investing in. We’re excited for what’s next: new formats and stronger synergy between our countries!

Ukrainian Tech Night at Viva Tech 2025 was organised by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in the French Republic, the IT Ukraine Association, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, and the EIT Community Hub Ukraine in partnership with Credit Agricole.
