Earlier this month, Maria Shevchuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association, contributed to a Forbes Ukraine expert discussion on the latest trends in the IT job market in Ukraine. The number of job vacancies in January 2024 exceeded the figures of previous months and even became the highest in recent times, continuing the trend from the end of the year.
In January 2025, IT companies posted nearly 11,000 vacancies, according to the recruitment platform Djinni. This number exceeds the figures for any month in 2024.
The forecasts of the IT Ukraine Association regarding hiring in 2025 are quite optimistic. According to market sentiment, companies plan to expand their teams. According to some forecasts, more than 50% of company leaders plan to expand their branches and more than a third of them intend to open offices abroad,

Before the full-scale invasion, service IT companies that developed software on demand accounted for about 60% of the vacancies in the industry. After 2022, their hiring slowed due to difficulties in attracting foreign clients.
Due to the change of government in the USA, as well as positive signals from the West, especially in the context of the situation in Ukraine, a gradual increase in interest in investments in IT projects can be expected. Based on these leanings, ITU sees potential for attracting new clients and ensuring stable development of the domestic IT sector.
