The United Kingdom is a key ally of Ukraine not only in military and political spheres but also in business, particularly in IT. Ukraine demonstrates steady growth in the export of IT services globally, with the UK serving as a significant market with a developed technological ecosystem.
One of the pivotal initiatives in this collaboration has been the creation of the Ambassadors Program by the IT Ukraine Association. This program aims to enhance the international image of Ukrainian IT and establish partnerships in key markets. In the UK, the ambassadors are Oleksandra Hovorukha, Head of Global Affairs at Sigma Software Group and Roman Zomko, CEO of Impressit. Their mission includes supporting Ukrainian IT companies, assisting in organizing events, and creating new business opportunities.
This year, Ukrainian and British tech ecosystems actively cooperated through projects such as the UK-Ukraine Tech Bridge and the UK-Ukraine Tech Forum 2024 in London. For instance:
In September 2024, the Digital Trade Agreement (DTA) between Ukraine and the UK came into effect, significantly simplifying technological collaboration.
In 2025, the Ambassadors Program of the IT Ukraine Association has even more ambitious goals, including expanding cooperation with British companies, attracting investments, and developing joint solutions in cybersecurity, fintech, and AI. The involvement of both governments in supporting these initiatives plays a crucial role in building stronger partnerships.
