Ukrainian tech and the UK: New Business Opportunities

Ukrainian tech and the UK: New Business Opportunities

Publication date:

  • 14.11.2022

Publication from:

IT Ukraine

IT Ukraine Association has updated the format of the global conversation Talk to Ukraine, which will now be focused on the development of the export potential of the national IT industry and new business opportunities for Ukrainian IT companies on international markets. The eighth edition devoted to the topic of business entry into the UK market is organized jointly with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP).

From the first days of the war, together with the Ukrainian IT community, the Association launched a series of English-language Talk to Ukraine webinars on the LinkedIn platform to consolidate international support for Ukraine. During the webinars, CEOs and founders shared their own companies’ stories of resilience, strength and supporting the economic front with the entire industry. Despite all, the IT sector continues to serve customers, scale globally and turn challenges into opportunities. Even after 9 months of war, IT exports are growing, supporting the economy, the military and the cyber front. Globalization of business plays one of the key roles in this.

The UK market is the second most popular for Ukrainian IT. The purpose of the event is to talk about the potential of national IT companies and share successful cases from members of the Ukrainian IT Alliance. During moderated panel discussion experts will tell what Ukrainian IT companies can offer to the British clients, which IT areas are most in demanding on the UK market and how much perspective is to do business there. We will also talk about experience and recommendations for beginners from such companies as Elek, Diegesis, Computools and Kindgeek.  Speakers
  1. Andrew Plum, Business Development Director at Eleks
  2. Nick Denning, CEO at Diegesis
  3. Oleh Stepanov, Head of Digital Transformation in UK and Ireland at Computools
  4. Iryna Povkh, Business development manager at Kindgeek
  5. Valeriy Dobrovolskiy, Future Industries Team Lead at USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP)
Moderator – Kateryna Tkachenko, Head of PR & Communications Department, IT Ukraine Association.  We will present the potential of Ukrainian technology companies, share successful cases from members of the Ukrainian IT Alliance, and announce the upcoming road show to London.  The road show takes place as part of the IT Export Alliance project, which is implemented by the IT Association of Ukraine, the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, the national project Diia.Business with the support of USAID Competitive Economy Program (CEP) and the Embassy of Ukraine to the United Kingdom. The event will go on live on November 15 at 3 PM on LinkedIn via the link.
