On September 24-27 Valtech – a global digital agency, held Sitecore Hackathon. It brought together consultants from 8 countries – United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, India, Ukraine, and the USA. The aim was to create products, based on the Sitecore ecosystem, being in a cross-international and cross-disciplinary team. The Hackathon also raised awareness and a sizeable donation for UNICEF’s Reimagine Education program – 40 000 euros.
Valtech and Sitecore have been partners since the early origins of both companies. The partnership continues to grow and is covering 5 continents, tapping into over 3 000 digital experts. Valtech is a global platinum partner of Sitecore.
The project’s evaluation was based on the following criteria:
Additional points could also be gained for the cross-country team (which was significantly limited to different time zones), for the originality of the idea and innovation, code quality, documentation.
3rd place was taken by the team, mainly consisting of the developers from Ukraine – One Valtech Experience Hub – one platform holding all intel on people, projects, technology, and experiences integrated with existing internal platforms.
The team Capybara Coding Club [CCC] took 2nd place for their Valtech 10Q – a place for Valtech employees to find the people with relevant tech experience and not least share ‘recognition and love’ for all colleagues.
The winner – Les Miserables team with Pourboire App: it helps you order a gift for a colleague from another office. For implementation, they used the Sitecore content hub.
