Updated data: IT is the only growing export industry in Ukraine

Updated data: IT is the only growing export industry in Ukraine

Publication date:

  • 31.01.2023

Publication from:

IT Ukraine

As evidenced by the National Bank of Ukraine, the IT industry provided currency growth amounted to $7.34 billion to the Ukrainian economy according to the results of 2022. The export volume increased by USD 400 million compared to the pre-War 2021 year.

As of January 1, 2023, the amount of taxes and fees paid by the IT business to the consolidated budget of Ukraine was UAH 32.2 billion. This figure is by UAH 4.4 billion and by 16% more than of the previous year. At the same time, the number of self-employed taxpayers for IT services increased.

Through the maintaining growth rates, the operating IT business supports the economy and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, creates new workplaces during the War, implements humanitarian initiatives, and thus contributes to the Victory.

Such indicators were expected for the export IT sector, as companies have been successfully implementing measures to support business continuity and creating conditions for the safe work of IT professionals. Our companies are successfully overcoming all the obstacles, including blackouts and significant interruptions in communication, so they are able to ensure the growth of the industry, albeit at a slower pace. The figure of more than seven billion dollars from the export of computer services is also the unique one because of it being the largest indicator in the entire history of the Ukrainian IT industry existence. And it was achieved precisely during the War.

– Konstantin Vasyuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association, pointed out.

“IT Ukraine” Association is the largest national community of IT companies, which represents more than 125 service and product IT businesses and more than 85 thousand professionals in Ukraine.
