CheckEye

Ukrainian HealthTech startup CheckEye has won the prestigious EIT Health InnoStars Awards 2024, becoming the first company from Ukraine to receive this pan-European recognition.

On November 27, 2024, the Ukrainian team behind CheckEye became the winner of the EIT Health InnoStars Awards thanks to their innovative platform for chronic disease screening. Founded in 2022, CheckEye uses artificial intelligence and combines the expertise of Ukrainian doctors with scientists from the V.P. Filatov Institute for precise and scalable analysis. This victory highlights the potential of Ukrainian startups in the medtech sector.

Two years of implementing innovations under the conditions of full-scale war have proven their effectiveness in Ukraine and received recognition in Europe. This victory opens up opportunities for scaling our experience to the EU countries and the entire world,

said Kyrylo Honcharuk, founder and CEO of CheckEye, who presented the startup at the final stage on the main stage in Budapest.

EIT Health InnoStars Awards is a leading program established by the European Commission in 2016, supporting startups from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe. The program aims to foster innovations in healthcare, providing access to international markets, partnerships and funding.

CheckEye’s victory confirms the potential of Ukrainian technologies. The combination of Ukrainian practicing doctors’ and scientists’ expertise with the capabilities of artificial intelligence in large-scale chronic disease screening creates the foundation for preserving the quality of life for millions of people around the world. I am glad that the European community recognizes the importance and timeliness of such innovations,

emphasized Kyrylo Honcharuk.

This achievement opens new opportunities for scaling, international cooperation and attracting investment, showing that Ukraine is not only a symbol of resilience but also a hub of innovations that are changing the world.
