Over the past year, the growth of IT-sphere in Ukraine averaged about 20%. And the basis of this growth is the powerful development of each individual company. One of the participants of the IT Ukraine Association, DataArt, showed one of the best annual results.
In 2017, the revenue of the DataArt network increased by 27%. More than 600 people joined the DataArt team, two new industrial practices were created, and Skillotron, a new gaming platform, has already attracted over 8,000 users from around the world.
Last year, DataArt opened two new practices: iGaming and Retail&Distribution, which both already works with important customers. The Excellence Blockchain Center, also created by DataArt in 2017, helped implement projects in the areas of Fintech, Media and Healthcare.
More than 600 new specialists joined DataArt in 20 locations, with a total number of staff in 10 countries at the end of the year exceeding 2,600. More than 350 people started working at Ukrainian DataArt R&D centers in Dnipro, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson.
In 2017 DataArt presented a number of educational initiatives. For example, free IT-courses for beginners were opened in Bulgaria and Ukraine. In addition, an online resource with 200+ educational courses has been restarted and a unique platform for skill assessment, Skillotron, has been launched. Since launching in August last year, Skillotron, the new DataArt product, has already helped test its skills by more than 8,000 developers from 54 countries.
DataArt’s Medical practice in 2017 showed an increase of 26%, reaching the planned annual profit for 11 months and increasing the portfolio, in particular, due to the emergence of new clients such as Embody and PSI. The KidPro application, developed by DataArt, won the Pfizer Healthcare Challenge in Munich.

Over the last year, Financial practice contributed $44 million to the company. One of the most significant results of the practice is the completion of the long-term development of a new trading platform for Nasdaq FBMS. In addition, in 2017 DataArt became Pega’s registered business partner.
Media practice has shown a 22% growth by signing contracts with 9 new clients, including the US Broadcasting Network and the independent music distribution company in the European Union. The practice has strengthened relationships with the largest music labels, publishers and distributors, reinforcing the position of Expert on Big Data, analytics and metadata management.
Travel practice had continued to grow steadily, starting to work with several new clients, including Travelport, Runtriz and Vestibule Solutions. In addition, DataArt has been named Travolution Award as the best technology team in the travel industry.

IoT Practice of DataArt has achieved a revenue growth of 33%, expanded its offerings, including the development of smart cars for the industry. The practice team continues to focus on Machine Learning, Blockchain, Data Management, Edge Computing and Cloud Support.
Last year, DataArt launched local websites in four languages: Bulgarian, Spanish, Polish and Ukrainian. There were also four international non-attendance IT-conferences in Ukraine and Poland and more than 150 technological meetings for developers from all over the world.
