TECHIIA

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and TECHIIA, an international technology holding, announced the first large-scale technology project in Ukraine, which solves the global problem of high-speed data processing.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and TECHIIA, an international technological holding, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the development of the Information Technology industry, construction of data centers, development of esports, and STEM education. Among the signatories are Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, and the Managing Partner of TECHIIA Yura Lazebnikov.

This cooperation implies the implementation of the Ecotechnopark project in the Kherson region. In its core is the data center with a capacity of up to 500 MW, which will perform the functions of storage, data processing, and 3D-rendering. The data center is planned to be built using the latest technologies taking into account the care of the environment. The heat generated by the data center is planned to be utilized in the agricultural farm, which will also be part of the Ecotechnopark.

To implement the first phase of the project, it is planned to attract at least $200 million in infrastructure investments. The data center will maintain the equipment worth about $1 billion. And at least 200 jobs will be needed. The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine supports the project and will facilitate its implementation.

Ukraine is a digital country in which IT innovations are developing rapidly. We have set ourselves the goal of doubling the share of the IT sector to 10% of Ukraine’s GDP, and such cooperation contributes to the development of the technological ecosystem and the acceleration of the country’s digital transformation. The construction of such a powerful data center will allow Ukraine to provide high-speed data processing services and create new jobs. I am confident that our country is able to become the most powerful IT hub in Central and Eastern Europe, which will attract international investment in Ukraine and strengthen our position in the world.
— notes Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov
cotechnopark is a new niche for large-scale investments in the Ukrainian IT industry. We have everything for that. A convenient location between Europe and Asia for big foreign customers, cheap electricity, fast and high-quality internet. And the most important thing is talent. We are grateful to the Ministry of Digital Transformation for its support and desire to strengthen the technology reputation of our country,  — said Yura Lazebnikov, the Managing Partner at TECHIIA holding
The implementation of this project will be facilitated by the adoption of Bill No.3199 “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine ‘On the electricity market’”, which will allow systemic investors to receive a competitive tariff on transparent terms of a special auction and sign up a long-term contract for electricity supply with state generation companies. After all, the construction of this data center with a total capacity of up to 500 MW will allow us to maximally load all six power units of Zaporizhzhya NPP,  — added the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Oleksandr Bornyakov
Other strategic areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the company include the development of esports infrastructure, in particular, the construction of esports arenas and hotels, the development of STEM education in Ukraine, and the implementation of corporate social responsibility projects. The presentation of the memorandum took place in the newly built WePlay Esports media holding arena, which is part of the TECHIIA holding.
