The Journey to ISO 27001 Certification

The Journey to ISO 27001 Certification

Publication date:

  • 30.01.2026

Publication from:

Tetiana Dashevska, CEO and Co-Founder, SoftBees

Data Security in Fintech: Our Strategic Milestone. At SoftBees, we have always believed that data security is not an option, but a foundation. That is why in 2025 our strategic priority was to achieve certification under the international information security standard ISO 27001. Today, we are proud to announce the successful completion of this process and share our experience.

Why ISO 27001?

SoftBees develops Fintech-as-a-Service SaaS solutions that enable banks and fintech companies to launch digital financial products quickly. Working with sensitive financial data requires the highest level of protection. ISO 27001 is recognized globally as the gold standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), proving that a company can safeguard its information assets.

Our motivation in 2025 was clear:

  • Client trust: Demonstrating to partners—banks and startups—that we take data security seriously;
  • Competitive advantage: Certification opens doors to collaboration with large regulated organizations, especially in the EU;
  • Internal discipline: Systematizing risk management processes;
  • Compliance: Meeting mandatory requirements for international tenders.

Our Approach

We achieved this milestone through a structured process:

  • Leadership commitment: Top management gave the project highest priority;
  • Dedicated team: Experts from IT, security, legal, and development departments;
  • Gap analysis and risk assessment: Identifying weaknesses at the start;
  • Training: Company-wide sessions, reinforcing that security is everyone’s responsibility;
  • Internal audits: Multiple verification cycles before final certification.

Benefits for SoftBees and Clients:

  • For SoftBees: Optimized internal processes and strengthened international reputation;
  • For clients: Confidence that their data is secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Looking Ahead

Achieving ISO 27001 certification in 2025 marks a new level of professionalism for our team. Yet this is not the final destination. We continue to enhance our ISMS, adopting global best practices to protect data in the dynamic world of fintech.
