Four Ukrainian companies — KNOPKA UKRAINE, InDevLab, Progalit, and LifesaverSIM — explored Sweden’s healthtech ecosystem during Vitalis 2026 in Gothenburg within the TechStep Sweden programme, engaging with key industry players, institutions, and innovation hubs.
Key activities of the visit:
- Visits to leading organisations shaping the Swedish healthcare ecosystem, including AstraZeneca, Evinova, GoCo Health Innovation City, Mölnlycke Health Care, Sahlgrenska Science Park, and the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg — providing insights into innovation infrastructure, clinical cooperation, and real-world implementation of healthtech solutions.
- Participation in the opening of Vitalis — the largest eHealth event in Scandinavia, bringing together healthcare providers, innovators, and public sector stakeholders.
- Meeting with Patrik Sundström, CEO of Inera, a key organisation responsible for Sweden’s national digital health infrastructure, offering valuable insights into how digital solutions are integrated at a system level.
- Mentor sessions and networking activities, supporting companies in understanding market entry strategies, partnership models, and localisation approaches.
- Pitch session “Rising healthtech Ukraine/Moldova”, where Progalit, LifesaverSIM, and KNOPKA UKRAINE presented their solutions to an international audience of stakeholders and potential partners.
Key insights from the delegation:
- Strong emphasis on integrating into existing digital ecosystems rather than building standalone solutions — leveraging established Swedish platforms.
- High potential in partnerships with telecom and infrastructure providers to scale digital health services.
- Opportunities to pilot solutions tailored for elderly care, including deployment via accessible devices such as TVs.
- Interest in joint Ukraine–Sweden projects, including the possibility to apply for grants to support biostatistical modelling and conduct clinical testing in Ukraine with real patients.
The visit provided Ukrainian companies with a deeper understanding of how Sweden’s healthcare system operates in practice — highlighting the importance of collaboration, system integration, and trust-based partnerships when entering the Nordic market.
