SoftServe doubles donations to support UCU students through scholarship fund

The Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) has announced the launch of a new special project aimed at supporting its students through the DoNation scholarship fund. The fund provides access to quality education for talented young Ukrainians who cannot afford tuition fees. It is sustained through monthly contributions from hundreds of donors. This year, UCU is implementing the initiative in partnership with the Ukrainian IT company SoftServe and Lvivska Khvylia (Lviv Wave) radio station.

From April to July 2026, every hryvnia donated to the DoNation fund as part of the campaign will be matched by SoftServe. This initiative will significantly expand scholarship support for both students and faculty. This year, the university aims to surpass 2,000 active recurring donors to the scholarship fund.

UCU is an inspiring environment where a new generation of responsible and proactive young people is being shaped. We have been supporting and collaborating with the university and UCU Business School for many years, and this time we are also contributing to the scholarship fund. Supporting talented students in this way is especially meaningful to us. We encourage everyone to join and become donors together with us. Together, we can create more educational opportunities for those who need and deserve them most,

comments Taras Kytsmey, Co-Founder and Board Member at SoftServe.

As part of the initiative, two key activities are planned: a charity run at UCU led by Borys Gudziak, Metropolitan Archbishop of Philadelphia and President of the University, and a charity podcast project in collaboration with Lvivska Khvylia radio.

We are grateful to SoftServe for this partnership, which is a strong example of responsible business investing in education and people. Scholarships provide talented and motivated students with an opportunity to realize their potential and take responsibility for the country’s future. The matching donation model is particularly impactful, as it helps scale support and encourages more people to engage in a culture of регуляр giving,

said Taras Dobko, UCU Rector.

Recipients of the DoNation scholarships include students who have lost parents, people with disabilities, individuals from low-income families, children of defenders involved in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and those facing difficult life circumstances. In addition, scholarship recipients are selected based on their social engagement and initiativeness. Candidates are chosen by UCU’s scholarship committee, and the scholarships cover full or partial tuition fees.

Those who wish to support the initiative and become recurring donors can do so via the following link. Join the charity run here.
