SoftServe’s corporate charity fund Open Eyes donated medical equipment to five Ukrainian hospitals to treat civilians and the military.

The equipment was donated to Sumy City Clinical Hospital No. 5, Vinnytsia City Clinical Hospital No. 1, Zaporizhzhia City Clinical Hospital for Emergency and Ambulance Care, Lviv Regional Hospital for War Veterans and Repressed, and a military hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk.
The total project budget is over half a million dollars. As part of its partnership with one of its clients, SoftServe received USD 250,000 million. The company doubled the amount and allocated a total of USD 500,000 to support medical institutions to the Open Eyes charity fund.
Supporting the medical sector has always been a priority for our fund. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, we have continued to provide hospitals with medicines and necessary equipment, but during the war, the needs changed, in particular, there was a great need for specialized equipment. After a careful analysis of requests from different regions, we decided to purchase and deliver medical equipment to five hospitals in Ukraine. Our goal is to provide our medical professionals with everything they need to provide high-quality and comprehensive care to both civilians and the military,

For example, Zaporizhzhia hospital needed patient monitoring systems for the intensive care unit, as the number of complex patients who need to maintain basic vital functions increased. By recording the slightest deviation of vital signs from the norm, monitoring systems allow doctors to respond immediately and save lives. For hospitals in Vinnytsia, Sumy and Ivano-Frankivsk, the fund purchased special operating tables and an arthroscopic stand. This state-of-the-art equipment allows surgeons and traumatologists to perform complex interventions that were rare before 2022, such as removing shrapnel from explosive devices, and working with bullet and shrapnel wounds. Thanks to the equipment, the hospitals were able to open new operating rooms, one of which were placed in a basement to allow them to perform interventions even during shelling.

The military hospital in Lviv region is setting up an ophthalmology department, so the fund has provided the hospital with the necessary equipment for ophthalmic and neurosurgical operations, as well as other critical medical equipment.
Our hospital provides comprehensive care to patients. We have a head and neck surgery department with excellent specialists: otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, and maxillofacial surgeons. With the outbreak of full-scale war, the number of patients in need of help, including ophthalmology, has increased significantly, so we started to equip the ophthalmology department. Thanks to the help from the Open Eyes fund, our doctors can provide services to such patients on the spot, there will be no need to transport them to other hospitals for routine procedures and operations, which will significantly increase the success of such interventions and comfort for our defenders,

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Open Eyes fund has been actively helping more than 250 medical institutions and units, purchasing and delivering more than 1000 tons of humanitarian aid, including more than 123,000 units of medical aid. For the second year in a row, the fund has been implementing the global Drive for Life project, under which it has purchased and equipped 194 ambulances and medical evacuation vehicles for the frontline with defibrillators, ventilators, oxygen concentrators and other necessary equipment.
