On January 6, 2025, at the age of 85, Oleksiy Ivanovych Skrypnyk—an outstanding scientist, innovator, and co-founder of the IT company ELEKS — passed away. A person of incredible energy, sincerity, and dedication, he left a profound mark not only in the field of technology but also in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him personally.
Oleksii Ivanovych founded ELEKS in 1991 together with his wife and son. The company’s first project, a software solution for power systems called DAKAR, was developed under his technical leadership. For over 40 years of his professional career, he remained a true example of commitment to programming, dedicating several hours each day to coding in C++, even at an advanced age.
In his 85 years, he had more spark in his eyes than many people do at 25. Every morning, he would walk six kilometres, keeping himself in perfect shape. Thank you, Grandpa, for your wisdom, support and love. You are forever in our hearts. Eternal memory,

Oleksiy Ivanovych was a Candidate of Technical Sciences, an expert in mathematical methods of programming, and the author and co-author of around 100 scientific papers and textbooks. He dedicated over 30 years to teaching, shaping new generations of engineers and programmers. His wisdom, modesty and striving for excellence laid the foundation of ELEKS’ culture — a company that became a home and family for many employees.
Oleksiy Ivanovych — himself, his family, and the company they created—became a home and a love for a lifetime. It is a place where I became both a person and a professional, found friends and like-minded individuals, and achieved things I could never have dreamed of. Oleksii Ivanovych always supported us and set an example of how to work and treat others. It is impossible to overestimate this and the best way to honour him is to continue his work and pass on the knowledge we received,

He leaves behind a large family: two children — son Ihor and daughter Olena — nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a wide circle of people whose lives he touched with his kindness and wisdom.
A farewell ceremony for Oleksiy Ivanovych will be held on Wednesday, January 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the chapel on Pekarska Street, 52 in Lviv, Ukraine.
