Marketplace co-developed by Ciklum named Retail Project of the Year

A joint team of 150 specialists in Kyiv (Ciklum) and Düsseldorf (METRO Markets) cooperated on the METRO marketplace. Thanks to the IT company’s DevOps experience, world-class engineering talents, and innovative vision, METRO has managed to create a marketplace much faster than with the traditional approach to software development. Working closely with the METRO Markets team in Germany, Ciklum built the Marketplace platform from scratch and on time, with the site going live to trade in September 2019. The first product sold on the Marketplace was shipped on the same day of launch, and the platform has not experienced any incidents or issues since. The platform is easy to improve and optimize further for current consumer demands. It means that METRO will be able to provide its customers with even better and more convenient services. Since the launch of the marketplace, more than 300 vendors have joined it, offering a total of more than 500,000 items. This B2B platform helps to increase loyalty to METRO and provides a positive shopping experience.
