Participants identified a number of key areas for working together. Among them, first of all, are joint educational IT-projects and cooperation between businesses of the two countries to strengthen networking and exchange of expertise.
So, an international online event, in which Ukrainian and Uzbek IT companies will participate, will take place in the near future. The event will outline potential areas of cooperation and help plan the first business trip of Ukrainian IT companies to Uzbekistan.
We remind you that the first meeting of IT Ukraine representatives with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Kurmanov and the First Secretary of the Embassy Abdurahmon Mahmudov
took place in October 2020. Even then, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of IT in Ukraine and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the activities of the newly created IT park in Uzbekistan and the State Strategy “Digital Uzbekistan-2030”.
The reason for the establishment of a partnership between the countries was the active development of the IT industry in Uzbekistan over the past few years. Thus, in 2019, on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an IT Park was created to develop a startup ecosystem and IT projects in the country. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan also approved the IT development program until 2030. Ukraine is a highly developed country in the field of IT, in which the export of IT services in 2020
exceeded the mark of 5 billion dollars. That is why its experience and expertise will be useful on the way to the intensive development of the IT industry in other countries.
