A few days ago, the team from Clarity Ukraine, an ITU member company, returned from Directions EMEA 2025 — the main conference for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partners in Europe.
This year, the event took place in Poznań, Poland, and gathered over 3,000 participants from 650 companies across 60 countries worldwide. Attendees experienced three days of intensive networking, knowledge exchange, discussions on the future of technology, and over 300 sessions.
Business Central Continues to Grow
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has officially reached the 50,000 cloud customer mark. This is significant growth compared to the 40,000 announced at last year’s Directions EMEA. The platform is actively developing, and demand for it remains consistently high. Businesses are actively migrating to the cloud or choosing SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions immediately. Additionally, Business Central has received a new logo.
AI and Agents
How much of the entire AI story is a genuine revolution, and how much is just marketing noise? Microsoft makes it clear that they consider the times of hype to be long gone. In their view, we are on the verge of genuine business transformation. The company shared quite ambitious plans, according to which AI agents will become an integral part of the Business Central platform.
Already this November, two agents will become generally available. The first is the Sales Order Agent, which will handle intelligent order execution. The second is the Payables Agent, designed for automated invoice processing.
Vibe coding is a new approach to software development based on communicating with AI via chat. You simply need to describe the request in plain language (detailing what your application should do), and the Artificial Intelligence generates the code for you. You can then provide additional examples, clarify details, guide the AI, and it will refine the result.
Coding Agents — The Next Step
Microsoft believes that in the near future, coding agents will take over a significant portion of programmers’ work. Dmytro Chadaiev, a Program Manager at Microsoft, stated that new AI models are getting increasingly better at writing code. These agents will be able to plan and execute entire coding tasks autonomously, in a cycle, based on a defined goal. They will have access to compilers, tests, online documentation, version control systems, and the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server.
Microsoft gives a rather clear answer: “AI will not replace your people. They will be replaced by the right people with AI skills.” Technology is developing quickly, and with the advent of AI, the pace is only accelerating. What looks like a demonstration of capabilities today will become an everyday reality tomorrow.
Key Takeaways
Following Directions EMEA, it became clear: the foundation for genuine transformation has already been laid. Business Central is growing, AI agents are transitioning from the experimentation stage to working tools, and development approaches are changing rapidly.
Opportunities are already emerging for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to work with agents and automation, which will free up time for analytics, forecasting, and planning. Business Central is a system that releases bundled update releases twice a year, and a comprehensive general roadmap for the system’s development and improvement is presented annually.
