Government Supported Temporary Business Trips Abroad

Government Supported Temporary Business Trips Abroad

Publication date:

Publication from:

IT Ukraine

From the first months of the war, the Association maintained an open dialogue with the State and raised issues important for the stable work of the national IT industry:

  • Reservation of IT professionals as a separate category of conscripts.
  • Possibility of temporary business trips abroad of professionals engaged in foreign economic activity.
  • Preservation of the status of a resident tax payer for citizens of Ukraine who are under temporary protection in EU countries.

Back in May, the Board of Representatives of the IT Ukraine Association met with
Mrs. Yulia Svyrydenko, the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine to discuss these issues and possible solutions.

The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on eTravels and the draft Law on Reservation, approved by the Government on August 19, is a logical and important step forward in solving the issue of temporary business trips abroad, which is critical for the IT industry. The ability to temporarily travel outside of Ukraine to maintain the contracts is an integral part of the work of national IT companies, a prerequisite for further growth of the IT industry and an increase in foreign exchange earnings from the export of computer services to the national economy.

We are grateful to the Government, in particular to the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, for understanding our problems and supporting the business operating in the global market. Our industry remains a stable support for the country’s economy despite all the trials of wartime. The procedure starts working in test mode from September. We are jointly to improve it further. Thus, the Government has finally made the first step to preserve the powerful national tech sector,
— emphasized Konstantin Vasyuk, Executive Director of the Association.
