The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and IT company EPAM Ukraine have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The partnership aims to combine efforts to modernise the sports sector and introduce advanced digital tools.
The signing of the memorandum was a logical step in line with the Ministry’s course towards digitalisation, which includes the creation of unified electronic registers of athletes, coaches and sports facilities, as well as enhancing transparency and accessibility of sports services for citizens. EPAM, with its global expertise in developing complex digital ecosystems and platforms, will act as an expert partner in these initiatives.
During the signing, Vitalii Lavrov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, emphasised that digitalisation makes the sports sector more transparent and the use of funds more efficient:
Digitalisation is one of the key components of the sports reform we have initiated to make the sector more effective. Keeping records in thick notebooks in the 21st century creates vast opportunities for abuse. There must be transparent registers and transparent electronic reporting to eliminate misuse and make sport truly accessible to everyone.
Stepan Mitish, Vice President and Head of EPAM Ukraine
As a socially responsible company, EPAM consistently supports Ukraine on its path towards becoming a digital state. Partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports will be part of our contribution to the country’s digitalisation. Our expertise in creating modern services and digital platforms will support the development of sport and promote a healthy lifestyle among Ukrainians.
added Stepan Mitish, Vice President and Head of EPAM Ukraine
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine noted that partnership with technology leader EPAM will accelerate the digital transformation of the sector. This will help make sport more accessible to Ukrainians, systematise data and create a foundation for new services. The Ministry underlined the importance of engaging business expertise to build effective and sustainable state digital products.
The cooperation will focus on knowledge exchange, expert support and joint work on digital solution concepts that will help modernise sports management and encourage more Ukrainians to adopt a healthy lifestyle
