Ukrainian IT is not only about products and services. It is about everyday decisions that make a tangible difference. While some teams focus on new releases, others launch educational initiatives, support the Armed Forces, assist local communities, or contribute to charitable projects. Without unnecessary publicity — simply because it is the right thing to do.
The social dimension has long become an integral part of operations for many companies. Some invest in youth education, others provide equipment or develop defence-related solutions, while many support volunteer fundraising initiatives. These are not isolated stories for reports — they are practical actions carried out alongside core business activities.
In this digest, we have gathered examples of such efforts — varied in scale, yet united by a shared principle: applying expertise where it is most needed. IT Ukraine Association shares these cases to highlight the industry’s engaged, responsible, and pragmatic side.
Read on to discover how technology serves not only the market, but society at large.
₴1.5 million to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian cities: Aurora supports the “Anti-Shahed Defence Line” project

The Aurora multi-market retail chain has provided UAH 1.5 million in financial assistance to the Dignitas charitable foundation, which together with the National Guard of Ukraine air defence unit “Burevii” is implementing the “Anti-Shahed Defence Line” project. The initiative is aimed at systematically countering attacks by strike drones and establishing a protection network capable of intercepting hostile UAVs before they reach populated areas and critical infrastructure.
Within the project, both military personnel and civilians undergo training in the use of interceptor drones, while units receive the equipment necessary for effective deployment. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Aurora’s total charitable contribution has reached UAH 729 million. Support for the “Anti-Shahed Defence Line” represents a further step in strengthening public safety and supporting Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
Six evacuation vehicles from DataArt and partners now helping to save lives

DataArt, in partnership with collaborators and the Frame Garage team, has delivered six specialised evacuation vehicles as part of the Support Ukraine initiative. The Frame project converts civilian vehicles into CASEVAC and MEDEVAC units, ensuring rapid and safe evacuation of the wounded from combat zones.
The transferred vehicles are equipped with essential medical equipment and autonomous systems and are already deployed at various stages of evacuation — from extraction in high-risk areas to transportation to stabilisation points and hospitals. The initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of the DataArt team, partners, and Frame Garage.
Institutional support for the Gen.Ukrainian civic organisation

Since 2025, Magefan has been providing institutional support to Gen.Ukrainian, a civic organisation dedicated to restoring childhood for children affected by the war. The organisation delivers comprehensive psychological support to children and families who have experienced loss, occupation, deportation, or forced displacement, combining practical assistance, professional training, and research activities.
To date, more than 1,500 children and families have completed Gen.Ukrainian recovery programmes, and over 2,000 specialists have been trained in trauma-informed approaches. The team is also developing Gen.Hope — a national hub for systemic solutions in the field of children’s mental health during wartime. Magefan’s support aims to strengthen the organisation’s capacity and expand its impact amid the growing number of children in need.
