ITU Member CheckEye expands the possibilities of early detection of chronic diseases together with the Ukrainian Academy of Family Medicine (ASMU). The joint project has started at four leading medical universities in Ukraine: Bogomolets National Medical University (Kyiv), as well as in Dnipro, Odesa and Kharkiv. Additionally, screening technologies will be implemented within the framework of the professional community activities of the Ukrainian Academy of Family Medicine and, in the near future, in one of the communities in Mykolaiv Oblast.
The Ukrainian Academy of Family Medicine is a network of practicing doctors who work daily with patients and strive to improve the quality of primary health care. Therefore, the use of innovative technologies at the level of universities and the professional medical community is an important step towards forming a new generation of doctors who will be able to effectively use digital solutions in their practice.
We believe that technologies can significantly improve the quality of family medicine, helping doctors in making clinical decisions and preventing serious complications. The implementation of screening points at medical universities and in communities is the path towards change that’s already having a direct impact on the health of Ukrainians,
— says Iryna Voloshyna, Director of the Ukrainian Academy of Family Medicine.
The CheckEye platform allows for quick and contactless detection of signs of chronic diseases using artificial intelligence algorithms. This opens up new opportunities for General Practice doctors – family medicine, providing early diagnosis that reduces the risks of disability and improves the quality of life of patients.
The cooperation between CheckEye and the Ukrainian Academy of Family Medicine aims at integrating innovations into the everyday practice of doctors, as well as the development of research and educational initiatives. Joint work is planned to analyse the barriers to the implementation of digital medical technologies, assess their economic effect and spread proven solutions among the medical community.
This project is another step towards accessible and effective prevention. Technologies and family medicine together create new opportunities for preserving the health of Ukrainians.
