Capgemini Engineering Ukraine, a member of IT Ukraine Association, has established its first semiconductor design and engineering team within its Ukrainian office. The team currently consists of six specialists recruited through external hiring.
The new business direction is being developed amid rapidly growing global demand for semiconductors, fuelled by the ongoing artificial intelligence boom. Ukrainian engineers will contribute to chip architecture development and hardware integration as part of Capgemini’s global ecosystem, serving leading industry players such as Arm and Intel Foundry.
One of the key challenges facing the sector is a shortage of qualified talent. Training a highly skilled semiconductor engineer typically requires more than seven years. To address this issue systematically, the company has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Kyiv School of Economics and launched a series of educational lectures for students. Further expansion of the team is planned.
