Beetroot AB, a Swedish tech company, partnered with the Stockholm-based non-profit foundation Ioca Arma Nostra to establish the “Aid for Ukraine — Beetroot Tech Relief” fund to support Ukrainians caught amidst the turmoil of Russia’s brutal war.
The fund engages Beetroot’s extensive network of colleagues and partners in Ukraine to channel the donations into grassroots humanitarian aid, primarily focused on supporting impactful and tangible local community initiatives.
We’re living a dark episode of European history. Children and young people in Ukraine, who deserve a bright life full of dreams and visions, were robbed of their future, said Björn Bringes and Katre Saard, Founders of Ioca Arma Nostra. Ioca Arma Nostra and Beetroot have been working together since 2019, and we are confident that all donations will greatly relieve Ukrainian communities.Beetroot uses an internal system to identify, verify and implement high-impact local aid initiatives. One of the main criteria for selecting projects is their humanitarian profile focused on supporting Ukrainian families in need. Priority is given to small hands-on organizations in locations with an urgent need for assistance, hot spots close to the front lines, and regions that shelter internally displaced people in large numbers. An additional focus is to help children and vulnerable social groups. The fund primarily supports the initiatives proposed by Beetroot Ecosystem members, partners, or carefully selected trusted applicants. The long-term nature of each initiative, especially those aimed at helping large groups of affected people, and their lasting social impact is an important, albeit not decisive, factor.
