The founder and CEO of the Ukrainian company IT-Enterprise, Oleh Shcherbatenko, delivered a lecture for students of the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS), focusing on the digital transformation of Ukraine’s economy and the role of artificial intelligence in this process. During his speech, the speaker shared the achievements of the IT-Enterprise team in leveraging AI to enhance the efficiency of Ukrainian companies, production facilities, and the industrial sector. He emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence not only simplifies processes but also opens new opportunities for business development.

The students were interested in the potential of AI tools, asking questions about their practical applications and future prospects. They learned how AI technologies can assist in education, scientific research, and the creation of their own business projects. During the discussion, the speaker touched upon important topics such as AI ethics, human accountability and control over AI, and its impact on corporate HR policies and the labor market overall.

Artificial intelligence can perform a number of functions in place of humans, but it can’t do everything. I am a supporter of widespread AI adoption, but it is obvious to me that, unlike AI, humans have charisma, talents, and influence that are hard to replace. Neural networks can also be consistent in their actions, tireless, and process far more information than a human can,

said Oleh Shcherbatenko.

The speaker also presented various AI tools from IT-Enterprise that could be especially useful for students: data analysis and machine learning (ML), decision support systems, and virtual assistants. Specifically, he highlighted that machine vision (MV) helps process and analyze images and video, while natural language processing automates text analysis and report generation. Shcherbatenko emphasized that these tools not only help students learn the basics of artificial intelligence but also apply these skills to practical projects, thus fostering development in modern scientific and business environments.

Background: The Ukrainian product IT company IT-Enterprise has been driving the digital transformation of the largest companies in the country’s real sector of the economy for over 35 years. Among its clients are Interpipe, Ferrexpo, Nibulon, Ukrposhta, Ukrnafta, Ukrzaliznytsia, and others.

Since the early days of the full-scale war, the IT-Enterprise team has been working with government bodies to implement critical projects for Ukraine, including the management of humanitarian aid, restoring procurement processes, and business relocation. Oleh Shcherbatenko, the company’s founder and CEO, is a consistent promoter of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 technologies and approaches.
