The Franco-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its first AI Forum, “Seising the AI moment: Between Disruption and Hope”, in partnership with the IT Ukraine Association and French Tech Kyiv.

The event was opened by key figures from the IT sector and the public sphere: President of the Chamber Bertrand Barrière; Artem Skrypnyk, CEO of Favbet Tech and lead partner of the IT Ukraine Association’s AI Committee; and Oleh Dubno, AI Unit Manager at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. In their opening remarks, they emphasised the strategic importance of artificial intelligence in the modern world.

The special guest was Michel Lévy-Provençal — entrepreneur, lecturer, and founder of TEDxParis. In his presentation, he explored AI in depth, highlighting the work being done by both the European Union and Ukraine in this field.

The panel discussion “AI as a Mirror of Our Society” brought together:

  • Oleksandr Krakovetskyi, CEO of DevRain and CTO of DonorUA;
  • Francis Pisani, journalist, author, and lecturer;
  • Oleh Dubno, AI Unit Manager at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine;
  • Dominique Piotet, President of French Tech Kyiv.

Participants shared their views on how artificial intelligence reflects our society today. They also reviewed and discussed the projects of the Ministry’s AI Unit.

During the practical workshop, “How to Harness AI in Everyday Work”, the following speakers shared their hands-on experience, skills, missteps, and solutions:

  • Oleg Shcherbatenko, CEO of IT-Enterprise;
  • Evgen Bukhalskyi, Head of Data and Analytics Service at UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group;
  • Volodymyr Krasotin, IT Director at Naftogaz of Ukraine;
  • Roman de Stefanis, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at Ipsos.

The practical session was moderated by Jérémie Langré, President of PRESTE.

The programme was firmly practice-oriented: speakers presented real-world case studies, showcased their developments, and shared first-hand experience. A key throughline across all talks was the importance of international cooperation, especially between France and Ukraine in the field of AI.

To conclude, the workshop “What About the Human? AI, Art… and Love” took place, moderated by Daryna Vazhynska, Editor-in-Chief of Knygolav. Speakers Marysia Nikitiuk, film director, poet, and author, and Evgeny Kryvin, producer at Svitlo Concert, shared thoughts on inspiration, sensitivity, and creativity, and reflected on whether machines can truly create and whether artificial intelligence could ever fully replace humans. They also showcased examples of video works created with the help of AI and offered their own musings.

The event was closed by Chamber President Bertrand Barrière, who thanked everyone involved in its organisation, with special appreciation for the hospitality of UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group. After the official part, the discussion on artificial intelligence continued in a networking format.
