EPAM

On March and April took place another wave of the EPAM eKids educational program. With the help of the Scratch programming language, children have traditionally created cartoons, games and information projects as one of the themes of the Sustainable Development Goals. The completion of the study took place on the World Day of the Earth, which the graduates spent for the benefit of themselves and the environment. They got their diplomas right in the park, in the fresh air. Together with parents, the children cleaned and landscaped the Solomensky Landscape Park, and also participated in a cognitive eco-quest.

During the quest, students solved their intellectual tasks and learned more about preserving biodiversity on the planet, namely: how in our country packaging is recycled from daily goods, how to clean water, why bats are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, and much more.

Ecoquvest was supported by partners from EPAM Ukraine: WWF – Representative Office of the World Wildlife Fund in Ukraine, UN in Ukraine – UN Global Compact, Youth Advisory Panel, National Scout Organization Plast.

The theme of sustainable development of society has been through through the teaching of students to programming and logical continuation of the release of the spring wave, which took place on World Day of the Earth. Children at the same time received comprehensive knowledge of innovative technologies and the basics of interaction with the environment. The game format was chosen not casual, because such training contributes to a better assimilation of information. EPAM Ukraine is very grateful to the partners who voluntarily developed and conducted a cognitive ecokvette for future programmers
— Aziza Khamidova, EPAM Corporate Social Responsibility Manager
The EPAM eKids global education program and environmental projects are part of the company’s social strategy for young generation development and environmental care. EPAM Ukraine is the first IT-company to open a scratch programming station in KidsWill’s – a Kids Career Center in Kyiv. From May 2017 more than 7,000 children had the opportunity to get acquainted with the programmer’s profession. In addition to a fully equipped station, volunteers regularly provide training for trainers and children. The business also provides technical support in the provision of programming clubs for children in cooperation with Code.UA.
