IT company Lohika is testing a new format of work after the pandemic

Lohika Ukraine allowed its employees to work from home until the end of summer. The company plans to waive mandatory office visits and is testing a new format that will be presented by the end of the year. At the same time, for those who miss the usual working routine and offline communication with colleagues, Lohika opened 2 offices in Odesa. Other premises of the company in Kyiv, Rivne and Lviv are currently available only for urgent working issues due to the large number of new cases of covid-19 in these regions.

According to an internal Lohika survey, during the quarantine employees were able to work from home quite effectively and by saving time on the road they also managed to improve their work-life balance. Currently only 5% of Lohika employees want to spend 100% of their working time in the office and 17% prefer to switch completely to remote format. At the same time, the majority, 53% of all respondents, are not ready to give up office work completely and would like to spend 50% of their working time remotely. Another 25% would like to stay at home 1 day a week after quarantine. All these wishes Lohika will take into account when developing new processes and a more flexible format.

In fact, we have been testing partly remote work format for a long time. Covid-19 made its adjustments, but earlier preparations allowed us to be one of the first on the market to switch online completely and smoothly. Despite some doubts about the readiness of teams and systems for the new format Lohika coped with the challenge called “work during the pandemic” perfectly and we are quite satisfied with the results. At the same time, during the quarantine period we realized that nothing could replace live communication. Thanks to online communication strengthening we managed to maintain the corporate culture and 94% of all surveyed employees even after 2 months at home responded that they feel like a part of Lohika team. At the same time 95% respondents still want to work in the office at least sometimes. Therefore now we revising our working approach and soon will be ready to present a new offline/online format. We will not insist on visiting offices until the end of the pandemic in Ukraine. Office facilities will be available as an option for those who finds it hard to work from home,
