KNESS GROUP

KNESS is an international group of companies founded in Ukraine that operates in the renewable energy and energy storage sectors.

The company provides a full range of services in the energy industry: development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), dispatching, operation and maintenance, electricity supply (B2B), trading, import/export, commercial asset management of energy storage facilities, operation of balancing and aggregated groups. The company also has its own RnD center.

The KNESS Group’s portfolio includes solar, wind, and energy storage projects in Ukraine and abroad, as well as custom IT solutions for power grid management. The Group has implemented over 1.4 GW of solar power plants. A separate strategic focus for the company is the development of energy storage systems. Currently, the total capacity of such projects has reached 900 MWh. This total figure includes both energy storage projects at various stages of implementation (EPC contracts) as well as already completed ESS facilities used for arbitrage operations and/or the provision of ancillary services to the transmission system operator. Additionally, under KNESS’s commercial asset management, there is 175 MW / 300 MWh of storage capacities, and these figures continue to grow rapidly. The Operation and Maintenance (O&M) unit serves SSP, WPP, and ESS facilities with a total capacity of 1.93 GW. Furthermore, KNESS operates one of the largest balancing groups in Ukraine (over 500 MW of RES and ESS) and is developing its own Aggregated Group.

Also, KNESS is among the leaders in equipment supply for energy storage projects—over 300 MWh of ESS have already been delivered to Ukrainian customers, and another 900 MWh are currently at the delivery stage.
